    (Automatic) Cleaning in Place (CIP)

Sobatech continuous dough mixer offers a high level of hygienic construction. One of the corresponding features is Sobatech’s automatic Cleaning in Place (CIP) system. The CIP system proves to be an efficient way of cleaning and is often an integral part of Industrial food production plants. The Sobatech continuous mixer can be cleaned with for instance chemicals, sugar or just (warm) water.

HOW DOES THE CLEANING IN PLACE (CIP) SYSTEM WORK?

STEP 1: ‘Set the mixer in cleaning mode’

The cleaning mode button is located on the HMI screen and is activated the moment the CIP process starts.
After setting the mixer in cleaning mode, the automatic dosing of the seperate ingredients stops. As a result, the continuous mixer runs empty as a result of its self-emptying mixing tools.

STEP 2: ‘Mixer is filled with water’

The continuous mixer is filled with (warm) water through the (rotating) nozzles installed at the upper part of the continuous mixing chamber.

STEP 3: ‘Mixing tools run on high speed’

The moment the continuous mixing tools are completely covered with water, the mixing tools will run for a few minutes on high speed. The turbulance in the water created by the rotating mixing tools effectively rinse the mixer.

    STEP 4: ‘Dirty water drains’

At the outlet of the continuous mixing system there will be a locker with a seal including a valve. On the other side of that valve, there is a flexible hose that is connected to a drain in the floor. After cleaning, the valve will open automatically and the water will be drained. Optionally the upper surfaces (the lid) can be cleaned manually.

This process takes about 15 minutes in total.
